We believe that a strong, vibrant culture is the bedrock of success, and that includes ensuring our people are rewarded fairly, competitively, and transparently for the incredible work they do. We're growing fast, and we're looking for a seasoned Compensation & Benefits leader to join our People team and help us build a world-class reward framework that scales with our ambitionThis isn't just about spreadsheets and market data (though you'll be a master of those!) It's about designing and delivering a global compensation and benefits philosophy that attracts, retains, and motivates top talent across every corner of our business. You'll be the architect and the hands-on expert, shaping how we recognise and reward our people, from the ground up
What you'll do
-
- Forge our Global Compensation Philosophy & Strategy: You'll set the vision for how we compensate our people, aligning it with our values, business objectives, and global market realities. This isn't a "set and forget" – you'll continually evolve our approach to stay ahead of the curve.
- Be the Master of Market Data & Insights: You'll own our approach to salary and market data, ensuring we have the right tools and insights to make informed, competitive pay decisions across all our global locations. You'll be the expert on what the market is doing, and how we measure up.
- Frameworks that Foster Growth: You’ll develop and maintain salary structures, job architecture, and leveling frameworks to ensure internal equity and market competitiveness. You’ll seek to enable rapid but responsible growth across diverse markets.
- Design & Deliver Awesome Compensation Packages: From individual new hires to executive roles, you'll be instrumental in designing compelling and equitable compensation packages that make people say "Yes!" You'll consider base, variable, equity, and benefits to create a holistic offer.
- Commission Structures with Clarity: For our sales and revenue-generating teams, you'll work closely with RevOps, our CFO and Global Head of Sales to provide input to the design, implementation and refinement of commission and incentive plans that drive performance, are easy to understand, and truly motivate.
- Guardianship of SafetyCulture Equity: You'll own the strategy of our equity programs, ensuring they are fair, transparent, and a powerful tool for long-term retention and shared success. You'll educate our team members on the value of their equity and how it grows with SafetyCulture.
- Champion the Annual Compensation Review: You'll design and lead our annual compensation review process from end-to-end – from strategy and communication to system configuration and execution. You'll make sure it's fair, robust, and understood by everyone.
- Benefits That Matter: You'll oversee our global benefits programs, ensuring they are competitive, valued by our people, and aligned with local regulations and best practices. You'll explore new and innovative ways to support our team's wellbeing.
- Be a Trusted Advisor: You'll partner closely with the People team, leaders across the business, and our executive team, providing expert guidance, data-driven insights, and thoughtful recommendations on all things C&B.
- Operational Excellence: You'll ensure our C&B processes are efficient, accurate, compliant, and scale with our growth. You'll leverage technology and continuous improvement to make our operations seamless.
What you'll bring:
-
- Deep Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in Compensation & Benefits roles, with 3-5 years in a global leadership position, preferably within a fast-paced tech or SaaS environment.
- Strategic Vision, Hands-On Delivery: You can think big picture about compensation philosophy, but also roll up your sleeves and get into the detail of individual pay decisions and data analysis.
- Global Fluency: You've navigated the complexities of compensation and benefits across multiple international markets, understanding cultural nuances and regulatory requirements.
- Equity Expertise: You're well-versed in equity programs (e.g., ESOPs, RSUs) in a global context and understand how to speak to the value of them within the compensation framework.
- Data-Driven Mindset: You love data and use it to inform your decisions, measure impact, and communicate effectively. You're comfortable with metrics and reporting.
- Exceptional Communication & Influence: You can clearly articulate complex compensation concepts to diverse audiences, from new hires to executive leadership, and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Change Leadership: You're comfortable leading change, especially around sensitive topics like compensation, with empathy and clarity.
- Systems Savvy: Experience with HRIS (e.g., Workday, HiBob) and compensation management tools is highly desirable.
- A "Gets Things Done" Attitude: You're proactive, resourceful, and have a proven track record of delivering high-quality C&B programs.
