About The Role
A key role reporting to the Category Lead – Logistics and Materials is responsible for using their understanding of pre and post award contracting practices to influence internal and external stakeholders in executing value-adding procurement activities.
The Analyst - Sourcing will support the Integrated Gas contract owners in applying pre & post-award contract management principles for optimised risk management and value creation strategies. In addition, this role will contribute to innovative approaches to find and manage future potential suppliers who can contribute to achieving Origin’s strategy.

- Contribute to and implement strategic pre and post award activities that create and sustain value across Origin, aligning with overall business objectives.
- Develop and maintain strong connections with business stakeholders to deliver timely and relevant pre and post award activities.
- Manage category contracts from start to finish, including researching market trends and suppliers, and contributing to value realization metrics.
- Apply your understanding of market dynamics, supplier economics, and cost structures to execute sourcing activities that drive value creation.
- Uphold Origin's commitment to ethical and sustainable procurement principles in all your work.
- Work effectively within a team, fostering strong relationships and identifying opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
- Take initiative to manage and resolve pre and post award activities, adapting to business needs and delivering consistent, high-quality outcomes.
- Ensure all procurement decisions and processes align with Origin's commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.
You will role model Origin’s values, be s elf-driven, with ability to be proactive and take initiative. A team player with ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of people across levels, building positive, productive working relationships.
More About You
- Bring your 1-3 years of experience in a Procurement or Commercial team to drive and manage strategic sourcing and post award initiatives.
- Demonstrate strong commercial and business acumen, with a keen eye for influencing factors, potential risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Showcase your proven ability to negotiate contracts and effectively manage suppliers.
- Utilize your experience with procurement systems like Ariba, SAP S/4HANA, or similar, to streamline operations.
- Leverage your skills in Excel for data analysis and financial modelling, alongside proficiency in data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
- Apply your strategic thinking and problem-solving skills while working effectively and collaboratively within a team and with stakeholders.
- Conduct research to understand market trends and dynamics, ideally bringing experience from the Oil/Gas or Utilities industry.
- While no mandatory qualifications are required , a Commercial, Legal, Engineering, or Business-related qualification or MCIPS certification would be highly regarded, along with a willingness to travel occasionally.
