About the role
AGL's Health, Safety and Environment team have an opportunity for a Health & Safety Business Partner - Renewable Energy (BESS).
Based in either the Newcastle/Hunter region or South Australia, you will play a crucial role in both developing and implementing the safety management systems but also uplifting best-practice health and safety programs across AGL's Battery Energy Storage Systems, and operations.
This role will provide the opportunity to not only be a part of AGL's ambitious renewable energy target of 12GW by 2035, but to build a long-term career in Australia's largest electricity generator and private owner of renewable energy assets.
What you'll be doing:
- Developing and embedding Health and Safety systems for AGL's growing grid-scale battery portfolio.
- Working directly with operational staff to ensure safety processes and systems are aligned.
- Proactively identifying and analysing trends, while providing solutions for health & safety outcomes across the operational teams and business units.
- Undertaking risk management activities including risk assessments, safety observations and application of risk management principles.
- Actively contribute to HSE and Local Operations leadership teams by sharing insights, offering solutions, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Experience developing and implementing safety management systems for generation assets.
- Experience within high-risk industry, with a preference for managing safety systems within the energy and generation industry.
- A confident approach to integrating contractor safety management systems into AGL's framework to ensure compliance.
- A positive approach to building relationships and influencing stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in auditing and risk management.
- Exposure to managing incident investigation for complex incidents involving high risk work
- Tertiary qualification in Work Health and Safety Environment or other related business discipline; Diploma or above.
