Founded in 2007, Linkforce started with a small crew of shutdown specialists and a single utility operating in the Pilbara. Our group has now grown to an operational workforce of over 3,000 personnel with an extensive fleet of modern vehicles and equipment that operate nationwide.
Due to ongoing growth of our crushing division we are currently seeking crushing subject matter experts (SME) to join the company.
THE ROLE
As a Technical Specialist – Crushing within a shutdown contracting team, you will provide expert-level technical support, lead field execution, and ensure high-quality maintenance delivery on (Metso and FLSmidth) crushing equipment during planned shutdowns. Your role will also involve supporting project delivery through safe work execution, schedule compliance, and on-the-job training of tradespeople to uplift overall team performance and equipment reliability. You will be responsible for:
- Acting as the technical authority on crushing systems during shutdowns, including Metso and FL Smidth gyratory, secondary, and cone crushers
- Overseeing and supporting the disassembly, inspection, rebuild, and recommissioning of crushing plant components in line with OEM specifications
- Consulting closely with the client’s planning and shutdown coordination teams to align on scope, sequence, and priority of works
- Ensuring compliance with shutdown schedules, delivering work fronts on time, within scope, and to a high standard
- Providing hands-on leadership and supervision to trades teams and sub-contractors during critical path activities
- Supporting QA/QC documentation, work pack execution, and signoffs in collaboration with the client and internal stakeholders
- Leading and mentoring team members through on-the-job technical training, coaching in safe work practices and efficient task execution
- Identifying and escalating scope creep, material issues, or potential delays, and assist in developing recovery plans as needed
- Supporting pre-shutdown planning, including job scope reviews, tool and parts verification, and task sequencing input
- Developing high detail reports and creating or updating standard work procedures
ABOUT YOU
We are seeking a dedicated professional with a safety-first mindset, maintaining uncompromising standards during shutdown delivery. You will be a clear communicator, capable of providing direction, feedback, and updates to clients and internal teams. You will be able to demonstrate:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in fixed plant maintenance with strong exposure to shutdown execution on crushing circuits
- Proficient with Metso and FLSmidth crushers, including overhaul, replacement, and critical inspections
- Strong shutdown delivery background, with a clear understanding of contractor deliverables, QA/QC expectations, and critical path pressures
- Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter or equivalent, with proven field execution experience
- Competent in reading mechanical drawings, interpreting OEM specifications, and guiding safe, high-quality execution in shutdown conditions
- Previous experience mentoring trades in high-risk environments under tight schedules.
- Confined Space and Working at Heights
Highly desirable:
- Cert IV in Training & Assessment for mentoring and structured OJT delivery
- OEM Crusher Training (Metso/FLSmidth)
- Various knowledge on Sandvik, Camco etc. crushers
- Project Management (basic understanding or Cert IV desirable for site-level coordination)
