An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and team-orientated Legal Administrative Officer (Grade 05/06) is available within our Department of Customer Service (DCS) Legal Division. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an administrative or paralegal role in an in-house legal team.

In this role you will be a valued member of the legal administration team, working in an interesting and fast paced legal services environment, joining a passionate, motivated, and engaged group of professionals providing high quality clerical and administrative support to the Legal Division’s litigation teams.

Reporting to a Senior Legal Administration Officer, you will be responsible for the delivery of a range of administrative duties supporting one of the in-house legal teams in effective service delivery. Regular duties will include general administration, financial invoicing and reporting, collation of briefing documents and providing operational support to lawyers with court matters. The role is diverse and requires a person who can prioritise and enjoys a fast-paced environment.

This is an ongoing full-time employment opportunity. A talent pool may be created for future opportunities. Due to the nature of this role which supports operational delivery, there is a need for the successful candidate to work from the approved office location 3 days per week.

  • Remuneration of $97,027 - $107,059+ super & leave loading, commensurate with experience.
  • Based in Sydney CBD with flexible arrangements available.

The professional in this role will need to:

  • Provide a wide range of administrative function to support the efficient operation of Legal services including general administrative support to optimise efficiency and support the delivery of business outcomes.
  • Act as point of contact with key customers and stakeholders by responding to enquiries, providing information and advice in an effective and responsive manner to meet business needs.
  • Assist Solicitors, Paralegals and the Senior Legal Administration Officer with preparation of briefing documents, court filings and collating subpoenaed material to support the effective operation of the business unit.

About You:

  • You have relevant experience and/or qualifications.
  • You are a strong and effective communicator with great initiative who can plan and prioritise work and manage competing deadlines. You are client focused with an ability to develop practical innovative solutions in a culture of continuous improvement.
  • You are a team player who can hit the ground running, work with minimal supervision and have a strong attention to detail. Prior experience in supporting busy legal teams is desirable.
  • You will be confident in using a diverse range of IT and business systems including Microsoft365 and adept at learning new technology, systems and processes quickly.
