About the opportunity
As a Design Engineer, you'll play a key role in supporting the Design Manager to deliver safe, practical, and coordinated design solutions. You'll be part of a collaborative and inclusive team, helping to progress design packages through development, submission, and stakeholder engagement-ensuring they meet project goals, timelines, and budgets. What You'll Be Doing
- Support the Design Manager in monitoring progress and delivering high-quality design outcomes.
- Collaborate with delivery and design partners to ensure smooth project execution.
- Assist in preparing design documentation and reports for project forums
- Provide input on design and construction matters throughout the project lifecycle.
- Contribute to a positive team culture that prioritises safety, inclusion, and wellbeing.
About You
You're a thoughtful and solutions-focused engineer who enjoys working with others to solve complex challenges. You bring refined communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset. You're adaptable, open to learning, and motivated by meaningful work that makes a difference-while also valuing time for life outside of work.
What You'll Bring
- A degree in engineering or equivalent.
- Working towards or holding certifications such as CPEng, RPEQ, or RIW.
- Experience in design coordination on major infrastructure projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage priorities and contribute positively to a dynamic environment.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to build strong working relationships.
- A current Class C driver's license.
Desirable
- Familiarity with railway and structural design standards
- Knowledge of Australian Standards and the National Code of Practice for track infrastructure
