Description
- Lead and manage the end-to-end payroll function for a workforce of over 3,000 employees across multiple sites.
- Oversee the accurate and timely processing of payroll using Chris21, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, awards, and enterprise agreements.
- Supervise and support a team of payroll officers, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
- Ensure all payroll transactions are processed efficiently, including new hires, terminations, leave entitlements, and adjustments.
- Maintain and update payroll systems and employee records, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Prepare and review payroll reports, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end processes.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders including HR, Finance, and Operations to ensure alignment and accuracy of payroll-related data.
- Manage payroll audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and external regulatory requirements.
- Stay up to date with changes in payroll legislation and implement necessary updates to processes and systems.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance payroll efficiency, accuracy, and employee experience.
- Respond to complex payroll queries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of statutory obligations such as PAYG, superannuation, and Single Touch Payroll (STP).
Profile
- Extensive experience managing end-to-end payroll for large, complex organisations
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor, develop, and manage a payroll team.
- In-depth understanding of Australian payroll legislation, including awards, EBAs, superannuation, and tax obligations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and provide insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across departments.
- A continuous improvement mindset, with experience driving process enhancements and system efficiencies.
