About The Role
Reporting to the Training Supervisor of Fixed Plant Processing and Mobile Equipment Maintenance and joining an inclusive and high performing team, the Technical Writer plays an integral part in achieving long-term, measurable improvements in safety, performance, and efficiency within our document management and digital risk management systems.
You will work closely with engineers, technicians, trainer and assessors and other subject matter experts (SMEs) to translate technical and operational information into clear, user friendly documentation. Your work will directly contribute to improving safety outcomes, process efficiency, data quality and operational effectiveness.
This position is based at Yandi and is offered as a 4/3 FIFO roster.

You will be based at our Yandi mine site on a fly-in fly-out roster. The outstanding facilities at the FIFO village include; a fully equipped gym, swimming pool, mini golf, tennis and basketball court. All rooms at the village have their own ensuite bathroom, television, refrigerator and air-conditioning. About The Role

You Will Also
- Have an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to understand technical processes and translate them into clear and concise documentation that ensures accuracy, completeness, and compliance of document requirements
- Review requests from the operations frontline and leadership teams to edit and revise documents to improve clarity, reduce variability, and ensure consistency across teams
- Monitor and enhance the quality of technical documentation including work instructions and digital risk management processes relating to operational activities which are developed to a standard and uploaded accordingly in our document repositories.
- Lead and support initiatives that improve safety outcomes, process efficiency, and standardisation within the document and digital risk management systems.
- Regularly assess and completes reports on system compliance and recommends ways to continuously improve processes
- Conduct in field verifications with teams during execution of activities to capture the right information
To be successful in the role, candidates should demonstrate a team-oriented mindset and solution focused attitude. We will be looking for people with the following skills and experience:
- Tertiary qualification with a relevant technical discipline or demonstrated ability in technical writing and digital risk management systems, preferably in an engineering, processing or maintenance environment is highly regarded.
- An understanding of safety, compliance, and operational standards in an industrial setting is highly regarded.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint) and other software packages will ensure you are effective in this role.
- Demonstrate technical aptitude and your drive to continuously improve technical documents based on the understanding of impacts and waste is key to being successful in this role.
- Strong understanding of technical documentation standards and lifecycle management
- Ability to work autonomously and manage the document and digital risk management systems to produce high quality documentation with key stakeholders in a timely manner
- You will be a true team player with a passion for delivering extraordinary results.
