Are you an experienced IT professional ready to take on a hands-on, customer-focused role supporting critical infrastructure and cyber security? We’re looking for a proactive and technically skilled Infrastructure and Security Officer to join our Infrastructure and Security Team within the Technology and Transformation Branch.

Salary

$75,243 to $116,755 per annum (based on 70 hours per fortnight), plus superannuation and a 9 day fortnight. Appointed salary in this range will be based on skills, qualifications and experience

About The Role

This role supports the delivery, maintenance, and security of Council’s IT infrastructure across multiple locations and divisions. You’ll work across cloud-first environments, network and communications systems, endpoint devices, and cyber security operations. The position is operational and collaborative, with responsibilities tailored to your experience level.

Position Requirements

  • Maintain a secure and reliable IT infrastructure, including cloud, network, and endpoint environments
  • Provide second-level technical support and resolve escalated helpdesk incidents
  • Assist with cyber security implementation, monitoring, and compliance
  • Support end users with device setup, troubleshooting, and training
  • Contribute to infrastructure projects and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Prepare technical documentation and assist with procurement and asset management

About You

  • A certificate, diploma, or degree in Information Technology (depending on grade level)
  • 2+ years’ experience in IT infrastructure, support, or cyber security
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, M365, endpoint management, and security tools
  • Understanding of cyber security frameworks such as the ASD Essential 8
