About The Role

Are you ready to take your SCADA expertise to the field and make a real impact on critical infrastructure? Zinfra is on the hunt for a Field SCADA Engineer to join our dynamic team supporting the Jemena Electrical Network. This role will be based at our Broadmeadows depot, with hybrid working options available once the successful candidate is up to speed.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Maintain and support SCADA & Protection systems across geographically diverse networks
  • Collaborate with Communications Specialists, Host SCADA team, and Field Testers to configure and maintain RTUs and other SCADA equipment
  • Deliver project and maintenance tasks including device configuration, site acceptance testing, backups, HMI screen design, and system updates
  • Provide expert advice on security, upgrades, and hardware improvements

About You

Join a hands-on, high-impact role where you'll help maintain and evolve critical SCADA infrastructure across the Jemena Electrical Network. You'll work both independently and in teams—and be part of a 1-in 3 on-call roster, ensuring 24/7 network reliability and support when it matters most.

  • Knowledge of DNP3, Modbus, and IEC61850 protocols
  • Advanced Diploma in Computer Systems Technology or similar, or extensive experience in a similar role
  • Industry experience with SCADA systems in utilities or power sectors
  • Hands-on skills with RTUs, HMIs (Eaton, Schneider, ABB, SEL), and cybersecurity
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently in high-voltage environments
