Sharp & Carter are supporting a QLD Government Department in the search for a Solution Architect to join them on an initial 12 month day rate contract. Reporting to the Project Director you will play a key role in delivering a new web-based interface to facilitate flexible, intuitive, and efficient system use and enable access via mobile devices and a new secure, consistent, flexible service layer to facilitate data sharing with government agencies.

- Lead solution architecture activities and outcomes through the development, maintenance and implementation of a Solution Architecture. This architecture will define and describe common solution architectures, patterns and practices for the organisations critical systems
- Follow existing project management methodologies of the program aligning with the vision set out by the Project Director and Project Managers and maintain architecture vision focusing on the successful delivery of the program
- Maintain an awareness of emerging technologies and provide expert advice and services on how to use these technologies to meet business needs
- Review and interpret detailed business requirements to produce solution architectures which meet strategic and operational business needs and align with the departments enterprise architecture
- Develop detailed architecture diagrams as required (eg: solution overview, control flow, data models, deployment topologies, integration diagrams). Provide documentation of all architecture using office documents (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint)
- Demonstrated success in architecture roles within public and private sector organisations
- Architecture practice and/or equivalent combination of relevant training and experience
- Ability to apply relevant architecture frameworks to produce and communicate architecture to stakeholders
- Strong experience within Microsoft application and Azure Architectures, cloud migrations, and contemporary .Net development methodologies
- Experience of building long-term, strategic relationships, including maintaining a strong understanding of industry standards, assisting clients in the formation of IT Strategies, and IT Architecture
- Proven experience in architecture and technical design activities and implementing technical standards/building blocks
- Practical Experience in Azure integration technologies
- be expected to work in the office 4 days per week, with 1 day work from home
