Key Responsibilities
- Develop end-to-end architecture solutions that incorporate modern practices in connectivity, data integration, application platforms, and cybersecurity.
- Produce high-clarity technical artefacts such as infrastructure layouts, system interface models, network zone definitions, and deployment blueprints to guide implementation teams.
- Bridge conceptual enterprise plans with detailed solution designs that inform technology selection, vendor assessments, and staged delivery plans.
- Apply structured design methods and adhere to best practices for systems resilience, interoperability, and secure communication in complex operational environments.
- Advise on networking technologies including software-defined networking (SDN), SD-WAN, MPLS, and hybrid cloud architectures, particularly within industrial or converged IT/OT landscapes.
- Support the design of automation and control environments, including both fixed and wireless communication layers, with a focus on data reliability and availability for mission-critical systems.
- Work closely with multiple technical disciplines—such as operational technology, information technology, cybersecurity, and engineering—to capture design inputs and align solutions with functional requirements.
- Define and validate integration strategies between edge and cloud environments, focusing on secure access, data flow, and system interoperability.
- Maintain traceability between business goals, technical requirements, and implemented designs using architecture management tools.
- Contribute to the evaluation of design trade-offs, implementation risks, and transition strategies during project handover phases.
- Extensive background in designing integrated solutions across digital platforms, infrastructure, and industrial systems.
- Strong knowledge of network and cybersecurity architectures, especially in segmented or critical operational environments.
- Practical experience delivering technical documentation that supports procurement, engineering, and commissioning processes.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols and integration patterns (e.g., OPC UA, MQTT, RESTful APIs).
- Experience working in heavy industries such as mining, energy, utilities, or transportation, particularly where IT/OT convergence is a focus.
- Skilled in coordinating across technical stakeholders and third-party vendors to deliver aligned, executable solutions.
- Capable of designing systems that incorporate edge computing, hybrid cloud infrastructure, and secure remote operations.
- Proficiency with architecture modelling tools and methodologies such as ArchiMate, Orbus, or similar.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
- Certifications (preferred): TOGAF or SABSA for architecture; relevant industry certifications in networking, cloud, or security (e.g., CCNP, AWS/Azure Architect, IEC 62443).
