The role
Are you passionate about technology and thrive in a dynamic work environment? Nous has an exciting opportunity for an Applications Support Specialist to join our IT team. This permanent, full-time position offers the flexibility of a hybrid working model, including time in our state-of-the-art office at Melbourne Quarter on Collins St – a space designed to inspire innovation and collaboration.
As an Applications Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of a wide variety business applications, including Microsoft (Teams, SharePoint, Azure services), Salesforce, Atlassian and many more. This role offers a unique blend of variety and challenge, allowing you to engage in both project work and day-to-day support tasks.
You will:
- Provide expert technical support for enterprise applications (level 2/ 3)
- Configure and enhance a variety of SaaS applications, including low-code workflows, customisations, upgrades, identity management and more
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues efficiently, and identify root causes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on exciting projects
- Assist in the implementation and integration of new applications
- Conduct training sessions and create user documentation
- Continuously improve application performance and user experience
- Actively maintain knowledge on the supported applications, including newly released functionality
- Provide advice/support to the business on the best practice use of applications
- Actively manage and maintain applications in the portfolio to ensure they are configured/updated appropriately
- Develop, document and implement changes based on requests for change, following change control procedures
- Conduct system testing for changes, such as upgrades, or new functionality
- Help identify areas for strategic change or improvement in applications portfolio
- Work with application vendors to escalate issues, procure and coordinate changes, and maintain vendor

You are:
- A person with exceptional attention to detail and thorough in approach
- Passionate about technology and jumping in to learn how systems work, and solve problems
- An exceptional communicator, both written and verbally
- Able to understand the business problem/intent and think beyond the technical
A bit about you:
- 5+ years in IT technical roles, and 3+ years experience in enterprise applications support in a level 2 or 3 capacity
- Salesforce administrator experience (certifications highly regarded)
- Experience in Microsoft stack (Teams, SharePoint Online, Power BI etc)
- Relevant qualifications in IT, computer science, engineering, or similar
- Experience of working in fast paced, high-volume environment
- Familiar with ITIL Foundation
- Experience with service management tools (e.g. Freshservice, ServiceNow, etc.)
