Be the engine behind our product movement.
As Purchasing Manager at NAR, your clarity in communication, strength in relationships, and ability to lead collaboratively and with purpose will fuel the engine room—driving the operations that bring our iconic sportswear to the streets.
About the role:
As our new Purchasing Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of goods across our wholesale and digital operations. You’ll be responsible for managing all purchasing activities, leading an offshore Purchasing Officer, and acting as a key liaison between internal teams, suppliers, and logistics partners.
We’re looking for someone with mid-level purchasing experience, ideally in retail apparel, who brings a sharp eye for detail, strong organisational skills, and the confidence to lead and influence across multiple stakeholders. You’ll be the go-to person for ensuring our purchasing processes are timely, accurate, and aligned with our brand and operational goals.
Our ideal candidate will be highly experienced with a track record for investigating and solving escalated queries. You will be the first point of contact for internal and external customers for wholesale accounts, and will be the first level escalation for issue resolution of our offshore team.
Your typical week will involve:
- Managing and executing purchase orders across multiple brands and platforms
- Coordinating with production and shipping teams to meet delivery timelines
- Leading and mentoring an offshore Purchasing Officer to ensure task accuracy and efficiency
- Liaising with suppliers and external logistics partners to drive cost-effective and timely outcomes
- Maintaining accurate data in Apparel 21 and ensuring system integrity
- Identifying opportunities for stock consolidation and process improvement
- Communicating clearly with internal stakeholders to align on purchasing priorities
- Reporting on purchasing activity and performance to senior management
To be successful you will have:
- 3+ years’ experience in a purchasing or supply chain role
- Experience in retail apparel or a similar industry (highly desirable)
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Confidence in leading and influencing both internal teams and external partners
- Intermediate IT literacy; experience with Apparel 21 is a plus
