Established in 2001, Guidera O’Connor (GO) is a privately owned and respected design and construct contractor and have a successful track record delivering water and wastewater treatment projects to the Australian Water Industry. Our clients include SA Water, Water Corporation, Sydney Water and SEQ Water.

Our Opportunity:
GO are seeking an experienced Project Manage to join the Western Australian team. As a Project Manager you shall operate in a forward-facing role within the Guidera O’Connor Project Delivery structure. Your project delivery responsibilities include collaborating with various stakeholders, both internal and external.
Primarily, you will support the business needs by effectively leading, managing, planning, and overseeing project-based operations and activities. Your aptitude, knowledge, and abilities in relevant industry practices, legislation, and standards for safe, compliant, and effective project delivery are crucial. Additionally, your ability to influence, coach, critically assess, and anticipate issues ahead of occurrence is of utmost importance.
Your performance will be evaluated based on the successful delivery of assigned projects or programs of work, demonstrating excellent leadership, stakeholder engagement, and commercial and technical expertise.

More specifically you will:

  • Deliver projects in a safe and environmentally sound manner.
  • Deliver best quality projects and in a timely manner.
  • Deliver projects profitably.
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Work with the Design Manager to ensure that designs are completed in accordance with Project Requirements and the Construction Program
  • Procure equipment and subcontract resources at competitive prices while also effectively managing labour and subcontract resources.

To be successful in this role you will need to:

  • Demonstrate previous experience management of a major capital works project in excess of $30M to $50M
  • Have experience managing incentivised target cost or similar
  • Have a PMI or APM Certification
  • Be willing to travel as work may be metro or regional
  • Have a strong background in Water and Wastewater infrastructure

  • Develop logical, well-structured project schedules with realistic timelines and dependencies.
  • Prepare comprehensive budgets and provide accurate monthly cost forecasts, ensuring financial control.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of construction risks and opportunities and implements timely mitigation strategies.
  • Possess strong knowledge of contractual obligations and ensures compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Adhere to all relevant legal, corporate, and procedural HSEQ requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively across functions and promotes a win-win approach to teamwork and conflict resolution.
  • Embrace change as a catalyst for improvement and understands its necessity in organizational growth.
