Head of Project Delivery

Acting as a trusted strategic advisor, the Head of Project Delivery provides senior stakeholders with guidance on implementation strategies, methodologies, project establishment and resourcing assessments, and project risk management.
The team
The Project Delivery function helps deliver APRA's strategic projects, incorporating program and project management, as well as PMO and change management. You will be responsible for APRA's project methodology, and the standards for project management throughout APRA, including creating and maintaining procedures, reporting and application of best practicesThis role leads a team of professional Project and Program Managers, Change Managers, and related support functions. Team size is determined by the portfolio and can scale from 12 to 25 FTE. Whilst immersed in portfolio outcomes and in direct support of sponsors, the team retains direct reporting lines to this role.
Key responsibilities- Oversee and enhance APRA’s portfolio, program, project and change function;
- Manage the prioritisation and implementation of strategic and divisional initiatives;
- Consult with senior management across APRA to provide leadership and advice on all aspects of best practice implementation;
- Achieve cooperation, compliance, and engagement on the value of the Portfolio Management function;
- Identify and apply appropriate project management approaches and tools, embedding these in projects;
- Promote the benefit of APRA’s project methodologies/frameworks given the need to influence a broad group of stakeholders including APRA senior management, including acquired learnings through post implementation reviews supporting effective change and impact assessments; and
- Model inclusive leadership behaviours and instil an open culture where divergent views are shared and respected.
About you
- Strategic analysis, planning and advisory skills to influence strategic thinking in the organisation;
- Experience and understanding of portfolio, program, project and change concepts, methodologies, and processes, as well as proven experience in their implementation;
- Experience and understanding of project financial modelling, technology, procurement, contract management, and project management;
- Delivers results, plans and prioritises, solves problems, and demonstrates accountability;
- Excellent, demonstrated communication, negotiation, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills to establish trusted relationships across APRA;
- Displays resilience and courage, acts with integrity, manages self, and values diversity; andDemonstrated ability to build, lead and develop high performing, engaged teams.
To work with us, you must be an Australian citizen with eligibility to gain a Baseline Security clearance through the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency.
