Join a collaborative and high-performing finance team supporting trans-Tasman operations.
We are seeking an Assistant Accountant to support our finance team 20-25 hours per week. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive individual with strong technical accounting skills and a passion for process improvement.
About The Role
Working closely with our Head of Finance and wider finance team, the Assistant Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations across our group of companies. Your primary focus will be on reconciliations, reporting, and supporting general accounting processes.

You’re a confident and analytical accounting professional with a strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently. You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and can manage competing priorities effectively.

About The Role

Key Responsibilities
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations across seven entities
- Prepare and post general journal entries
- Manage credit card transaction processing for MR Australia
- Reconcile Dr Pay reports for 2Cloud9
- Compile and distribute daily pipeline reports
- Maintain and update the debt spreadsheet 3–5 times per week
- Assist with month end processing
You’re a confident and analytical accounting professional with a strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently. You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and can manage competing priorities effectively.
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced level)
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, including debits and credits
- Familiarity with various accounting systems (e.g., Xero, MYOB, or similar)
- Strong understanding of financial statements, including the relationship between the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet
- Excellent time management and communication skills
