Regional Designer Manager, Network Engineering

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  
• 10 years of experience with network routing protocols, design and troubleshooting, with network equipment providers.
  
• 2 years of experience managing and building teams
  
• Experience with planning and designing networks (e.g., multiple sites, multiple products, etc.).

Preferred qualifications:

• 8 years of experience in telecommunications, OSP, ISP, AC/DC power systems, and relay rack/cabinet/cage construction.
• 8 years of experience directing field operation technicians, engineers, contractors, or vendors in a telecommunications working environment.
• Experience in one or more programming languages such as C++, Go, or Python.
  
• Understanding the technical and process challenges associated with network planning.
• Understanding of cloud computing, Linux server environments, network design and deployment, and managing infrastructure.
• Excellent financial skills, including business/project budget creation and cost-benefit analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of individuals, set and communicate individual and team priorities that support organizational goals. Meet regularly with individuals to discuss performance and development, and provide feedback and coaching.
  
• Drive the quantifiable analysis of measurements, or data and capacity forecast models for making networks and deliver user experience.
• Evaluate the current inefficiencies, complexities, and flaws in network systems and propose designs, software, and processes to improve them.
  
• Develop software that improves the performance, safety, transparency, and manageability of network systems.
