About the role


Enerven has a large portfolio of work providing commissioning, maintenance and refurbishment of generation, transmission and distribution assets. We are experiencing large growth in major renewables and battery projects nationally, as well as consistent growth in maintenance and refurbishment work across transmission and distribution networks in South Australia.


The Engineering Field Officer (Commissioning Officer) is responsible for testing and commissioning construction and maintenance projects in order to safely and successfully energise new and existing High Voltage Assets. This will involve complete testing of all High Voltage protection and secondary systems in readiness for energisation. The roles focus is on secondary systems, however primary plant knowledge is also highly desirable.


Day to day you will:

  • Commission high voltage substations, switch rooms and generation assets including the protection and control schemes and assisting in the commissioning of the primary plant.
  • Complete maintenance testing and repair works on existing in-service assets
  • Provide fault-finding and technical support services to our portfolio of clients
  • Assist in developing and completing the required documentation that supports the commissioning and testing works


About you


Enerven are looking for highly skilled Engineering Field Officers (Commissioning Officers) to hit the ground running.


Specific qualifications and experience required include:

  • Extensive Protection relay testing experience including Generation and EHV (Transmission) experience (Using Omicron equipment)
  • Secondary systems commissioning, on both Brownfield and Greenfield sites
  • CT, VT, Switchboard and Circuit Breaker Testing and commissioning
  • Experience with the commissioning process and energising new facilities in co-ordination with multiple asset owners
  • Providing site leadership, stakeholder management and development / mentoring for junior colleagues
  • The ability to work autonomously
  • A growth mindset and a desire for continuous learning and development
  • Specific qualifications and experience required include:
  • An Electrical Trade License or Electrical Engineering Degree is essential
  • Drivers Licence essential
  • HV Switching experience desirable but not essential
  • Experience using Omicron test equipment highly preferred
