WHS Advisor

Role Summary

Racing Queensland is looking for a WHS and Injury Management Advisor who has a minimum of a Cert IV in WHS and 4 years of experience in a similar role to join our Legal, Risk and Insurance Team on a permanent, full-time basis with flexible work options.

What you'll do, day to day

• Managing day-to-day operational WHS issues and resolving with limited escalation.
• Manage operational WHS imperatives in line with Racing Queensland's 12 -month operational plan.
• Providing high quality operational WHS and injury management advice to all departments and key personnel.
• Managing and mitigating WHS employee risks through the provision of sound WHS advice, support and guidance as a trusted business partner.
• Creating and revising WHS guidelines and procedures for RQ's operational risk management and training.
• Reporting on RQ WHS performance and ensuring appropriate risk mitigation strategies are employed.
• Conducting workplace investigations as required.
• Undertake training of RQ employees pertaining to WHS and injury management at induction and as part of legislative and organisational compliance.
• Ensure RQ meets its legislative and statutory obligations in relation to WHS and injury management.
