About The Role

As part of BOQ Group’s transformation journey, we are an experienced Senior Manager Line 1 Risk to support Financial Crime Operations. You will play a fundamental role in our transformation of building a stronger, more resilient bank by supporting the leadership team in facilitating risk management activities within the first line of defence.

The Senior Manager, Line 1 Risk, Financial Crime Operations is responsible for supporting the Head of Line 1 Risk, Transformation & Operations in coordinating and facilitating risk management activities within the first line of defence. This role plays a key part in driving a proactive risk culture across the division, enhancing the

organisation's ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks.

The Senior Manager ensures that risk management frameworks and strategies are effectively integrated into business operations, strengthening the organization's control environment, improving its risk position, and

ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This role also promotes innovative risk management solutions, aligning risk practices with the strategic direction and growth objectives of BOQ.

Additionally you’ll be responsible for providing pragmatic risk advice, identifying risks, and supporting the business in removing complexity and driving a reduction in risk. You’ll deliver risk insights that aid management in decision-making, manage and advise on all Risk Management Strategy, supporting frameworks and standards, and deliver risk governance activities.

About You

You are a seasoned risk management professional with a strong foundation in finance, business, or a related field, ideally supported by professional certifications such as FRM, PRM, or CPA. With a proven track record in both strategic and operational aspects of risk, you bring significant experience—some of it in leadership—within financial services.

You’ve played a key role in developing and implementing risk management frameworks and have hands-on experience delivering remedial action plans (RAPs), particularly in the context of financial crime control uplift programs. Your expertise extends to Financial Crime Risk Management and Financial Crime Operations, where your analytical mindset and attention to detail shine.

You’re known for your ability to assess critical processes, identify root causes, and uncover control gaps and simplification opportunities. You thrive on diagnosing complex issues, spotting trends, and recommending actionable solutions. Your communication skills—both written and verbal—are exceptional, enabling you to influence stakeholders at all levels and lead with clarity and confidence.
