The Principal Operations Readiness is responsible for the development of an integrated

Operational Readiness Plan through the front-end loading process incorporating all elements

(entire value chain together with required supporting functions) required to run the future operation and the coordination, planning and execution of all Operational Readiness activities.

The Company

BCI Minerals Limited (ASX:BCI) is an Australian owned mineral resources company with salt and potash as its initial focus. A future Tier One project, Mardie has been designed to produce 5.35Mtpa of high-purity salt and 140ktpa of Sulphate of Potash (SOP).


Using an inexhaustible seawater resource and 99% of the energy required produced by natural solar and wind energy, our Mardie project is a multi-generational sustainable opportunity that will supply the growing chemical, renewable energy, and agricultural industries with Salt and Sulphate of Potash for generations to come.

The Role

The Principal Operational Readiness will play a pivotal role in driving the successful implementation of the Operational Readiness Plan for the Mardie Project. Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and General Manager of Mardie Operations, you’ll help shape the overarching operations phase philosophy and ensure a seamless transition from construction to operational execution. You’ll be accountable for the planning, development, and alignment of the Operational Readiness program with construction and production milestones, ensuring all objectives are met and communicated across the business.


This role takes full ownership of operational readiness schedules, reporting frameworks, and continuous improvement initiatives. You’ll lead coordination across departments, deliver clear and regular reporting, and highlight key risks and progress updates. Your ability to foster cross-functional collaboration will be essential in achieving optimal operational outcomes.


A strong focus on risk management is also key. You’ll oversee readiness-related risk registers and controls, actively participate in HAZOPs and risk workshops, and ensure all readiness plans align with BCI standards and stakeholder requirements.


About You:

To be successful in the role of Principal Operational Readiness you will hold:

  • Tertiary Qualification in a relevant Engineering or Operational Management discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 15 + years’ experience in the resources industry, the majority in operational roles.
  • 5 + years’ experience in a operations readiness or similar role.
  • Demonstrated experience with strategic planning, development, implementation and maintenance of projects in the resources sector.
  • Operations readiness experience with a Greenfield project desirable.
  • Experience in preparing an organisation for the planning, transition and decisions that ensure the project design can be effectively implemented to enable the move to operationalisation.
  • Problem solve and collaborate with the projects and engineering teams to determine the impact of the design on maintenance and operations and OPEX.
  • Demonstrated background in creating and sustaining a positive safety culture.
  • Proven capability in implementing value improvement practices and processes to deliver fit for purpose and value capital outcomes.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook & SharePoint).
