The role: HR Generalist


  • Full Time – Permanent Position

  • Salary – 90k + 100k + Super


About the Role


We are looking for a hands-on and adaptable HR Generalist to provide end-to-end HR support across multiple departments within a large and diverse organisation. This role covers everything from recruitment and onboarding through to employee relations and performance management, along with a strong focus on administrative HR processes.

Key Responsibilities


Recruitment & Onboarding:

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment for mine site staff, including job ad creation, application management, interview scheduling, and sitting in interviews for certain departments


Administration:

  • Issue employment contracts and manage contract variations
  • Coordinate traineeship applications and manage submissions through the Government ADMS portal
  • Track mandatory training compliance and assist with leave audits
  • Maintain employee records and prepare regular HR reports
  • Comfortable managing a high volume of administrative tasks


HR Advisory Support:

  • Respond to employee and manager queries regarding policies, entitlements, and procedures
  • Provide generalist advice on policy application, performance concerns, and process navigation


FIFO Site Visits:

  • Travel regularly to remote sites (once a month) to engage with staff, support compliance and training initiatives, provide HR advice, and foster employee engagement


Learning & Development:

  • Support training and development initiatives to build workforce capability
  • Promote participation in corporate programs and development opportunities


About You


  • 2–3 years of experience in a similar generalist HR role, preferably in a fast-paced or industrial environment
  • Confident and capable in recruitment, including conducting interviews and managing recruitment processes
  • Sound understanding of Australian employment law and HR compliance requirements; Award knowledge highly regarded
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the business
  • Organised and detail-oriented, with a high level of comfort managing administrative processes
  • Proficiency with HR systems and tools, including contract management platforms like DocuSign
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business or a related field is highly desirable
