About Perth Care & Companion Company

Perth Care & Companion Company (PCCC) is a local provider of care and companion services to Seniors living in Perth, offering support in individuals' homes and in residential care. PCCC aims to assist individuals in maintaining and enhancing the physical, emotional and social wellbeing and independence of older people, their carer’s and families. PCCC's mission is to provide sustainable solutions that empower Seniors to make the most of their lives while supporting busy families in caring for their loved ones.

As a Casual Care Companion for PCCC, you will support clients to achieve and maintain wellbeing and independence as outlined in the individual service plan and in partnership with the individual and their family including, but not limited to, personal care, housework, social support, shopping, transport to appointments, meal preparation and general tasks which are required to manage a household. As a Care Companion for PCCC, you will become part of the client's support system and build a positive relationship with them and their families.

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments will be made for this or similar future vacancies that arise within the next 6 months from date of first appointment.

About The Role

  • A rewarding role working with clients across the central belt of the Perth Metro area.
  • Support Clients to remain living at home.
  • Assist with client's personal care.
  • Ensuring client's home environment remains clean and organised.
  • Assist in the preparation of meals for the clients.
  • Provide support to clients by assisting with shopping.
  • Support the clients socially and domestically while creating a positive rapport.
  • Encourage and promote the independence and freedom of choice of clients.

What You Need

  • Possess a Certificate III in Aged Care or hold a similar qualification.
  • Previous experience working in the community or Residential Aged Care.
  • A valid drivers licence with access to your own vehicle.
  • Be eligible to work in Australia.
  • Satisfactory National Police Certificate (on commencement of employment to be within six months from date of issue) or willing to obtain one.
  • Be up to date with your COVID 19 and flu vaccinations.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to relate to the elderly with empathy and understand their needs.
  • Demonstrate flexible decision making and advanced problem solving skills.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills to effectively plan and prioritise work tasks.
