Vendor Operations Coordinator (APAC)

Block, Inc.

Date: 20 hours ago
City: Melbourne, Victoria
Contract type: Full time
Remote

Since we opened our doors in 2009, the world of commerce has evolved immensely, and so has Square. After enabling anyone to take payments and never miss a sale, we saw sellers stymied by disparate, outmoded products and tools that wouldn't work together.

So we expanded into software and started building integrated, omnichannel solutions – to help sellers sell online, manage inventory, offer buy now, pay later functionality, book appointments, engage loyal buyers, and hire and pay staff. Across it all, we've embedded financial services tools at the point of sale, so merchants can access a business loan and manage their cash flow in one place. Afterpay furthers our goal to provide omnichannel tools that unlock meaningful value and growth, enabling sellers to capture the next generation shopper, increase order sizes, and compete at a larger scale.

Today, we are a partner to sellers of all sizes – large, enterprise-scale businesses with complex operations, sellers just starting, as well as merchants who began selling with Square and have grown larger over time. As our sellers grow, so do our solutions. There is a massive opportunity in front of us. We're building a significant, meaningful, and lasting business, and we are helping sellers worldwide do the same.

The Role

Block is looking for a detail-oriented and execution-focused Vendor Operations Coordinator to join our GSO team. As an important member of our organization, you will report into the Vendor Strategy Lead, coordinating the activities of Square's implementation vendors across the APAC region. Working directly with the Global Head of Vendor Strategy & GSO BPO, you will manage day-to-day vendor operations, scheduling logistics, performance tracking, and issue resolution to support high-quality, scalable onsite implementation services in markets such as Australia, Japan, and future regional expansions.

This remote position plays a crucial role in delivering operational excellence while collaborating with cross-functional teams across the organization. The role requires up to 20% travel and offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on our vendor operations while contributing to program growth and automation.

You Will

  • Serve as the day-to-day operations liaison for APAC implementation vendors
  • Coordinate vendor dispatch logistics and ensure timely scheduling and execution of onsite appointments
  • Monitor adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs), escalation procedures, and operational workflows
  • Support vendors in scope compliance, resource allocation, and troubleshooting real-time deployment issues
  • Maintain and analyze vendor scorecards, performance metrics, and QA results
  • Partner with the Quality team to surface trends, implement feedback loops, and improve vendor performance
  • Conduct regular operational reviews and contribute to quarterly business reviews
  • Work closely with Sales, Onboarding, Support, Risk, and Learning & Development teams
  • Support enablement and ongoing training efforts in partnership with L&D
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to relay operational feedback and identify tooling improvements
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of vendor processes, issue logs, and SOPs
  • Track and report on appointment volumes, capacity utilization, and regional trends
  • Act as the first line of support for vendor-related escalations in the APAC region
  • Participate in shaping the future of the implementation vendor program in APAC
  • Identify and lead process improvement opportunities
  • Collaborate on AI-enabled workflows that automate manual tasks and scale service delivery

You Have

  • Experience managing vendor operations across APAC regions
  • Strong familiarity with local service logistics and cultural nuances
  • Excellent cross-functional communication and data analysis skills
  • Fluent in English; additional regional language skills (e.g., Japanese, Korean) are welcomed
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, CRM, and project tracking tools
