About The Role
We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Health and Safety Lead, Manager or Specialist to join our tier 1 Energy company, working in the HSSE team and partnering with our Major Energy Projects division on projects that are moving from FID through to execution/construction.
As the Major Projects HSSE Lead, you will focus on providing strategic advice, leading the health and safety due diligence, and operationalisation on various large scale construction projects across the EnergyAustralia business.
Your principal focus is ensuring health and safety are systematically managed to best practice standards from initial project inception, through to execution phase, and operationalisation of the project.

About The Role
We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Health and Safety Lead, Manager or Specialist to join our tier 1 Energy company, working in the HSSE team and partnering with our Major Energy Projects division on projects that are moving from FID through to execution/construction.
As the Major Projects HSSE Lead, you will focus on providing strategic advice, leading the health and safety due diligence, and operationalisation on various large scale construction projects across the EnergyAustralia business.
Your principal focus is ensuring health and safety are systematically managed to best practice standards from initial project inception, through to execution phase, and operationalisation of the project.
You Will Achieve This By
- Developing health and safety specifications and management documents for construction and major project activities - ensuring health and safety is factored into project design
- Undertaking due diligence in relation to prospective tenderers, supporting onboarding and monitoring of construction contractors
- Providing health and safety specialist knowledge in relation to renewable technologies such as large-scale batteries, pumped hydro, PV solar and electric vehicle chargers
- Development of best practice contractor management strategies
- Ensuring our operations commence with documented safe systems of work
- Driving safety culture improvements in Energy Projects
- Tertiary qualifications in Safety or related discipline, coupled with relevant heavy industrial or construction-type experience
- Contractor Management experience from engagement, onboarding through to monitoring
- Experience working with teams on large scale construction projects
- Experience liaising/negotiating with internal and external regulatory authorities
- Good knowledge of Energy technologies including advancements in renewable technologies would be advantageous
- Ability to implement legislative changes into the relevant safety management system and plans
- Ability to build and implement new safe systems of work
