Are you a senior Azure expert ready to drive cloud transformation in one of the most secure and complex environments? Saab is seeking an experienced Cloud Solution Architect to play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering secure, scalable cloud solutions across our enterprise.
As part of Saab’s IT Architecture team, you will be the technical authority for enterprise cloud solutions, working on high-impact transformation programs within a highly regulated Defence context.
You’ll provide expert guidance across architecture, security, governance, and operational readiness—leveraging Microsoft Azure and M365 to deliver mission-critical capabilities.

Key responsibilities:
As a key member of our Strategy, Transformation & Communications division, you will:
- Architect and deliver secure, resilient, and cost-optimised Azure-based solutions.
- Define cloud architecture strategy, guardrails, and reference patterns.
- Lead the cloud design process through governance and architecture forums.
- Mentor technical teams, upskilling them in cloud-first principles and tools.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across business, security, and technology domains.
- Evaluate and introduce emerging cloud technologies aligned to enterprise goals.
- Drive infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and automation best practices.
- Support enterprise cloud migration, integration, and modernisation programs.
Experience & Skills:
- Proven Azure solution architecture experience in regulated or Defence environments.
- Deep expertise in cloud security, compliance, identity (Entra ID), and governance.
- Strong understanding of M365 security & collaboration platforms (Exchange Online, Intune, SharePoint, DLP).
- Experience driving cloud transformation and enterprise-scale migrations.
- Effective communicator and mentor with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
- Knowledge of Australian Defence compliance and information security requirements
- Desirable - Skills in Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, ARM, Bicep), scripting (PowerShell, Azure CLI).
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (strongly preferred)
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator
- Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
- ITIL v4 Foundation
- AWS Solution Architect (desirable)
- Proven ability to influence and manage stakeholders through strong communication, collaboration, and customer-focused engagement.
- Demonstrated adaptability to new tasks, technologies, and processes in dynamic environments.
- Committed to delivering results under pressure by balancing conflicting priorities and aligning with business and customer needs.
- Takes ownership and accountability for resolving issues promptly and driving continuous improvement.
- Leads by example in fostering a learning culture, technical collaboration, and values-driven behaviours.
