About The Role
Reporting to the Civil Maintenance Supervisor, you'll operate medium-category trucks and machinery to help maintain structures on the near 1000 kilometres of track along the Geelong, Gippsland and CBD Corridors.
In this hands-on role, you'll assist in maintaining rail structures, Bridges, Culverts, Platforms, Signal structures, Retaining walls while prioritising safety.
You will work 4 days on, 3 days off. Tuesday to Friday, 7 AM to 4:30 PM; Saturday to Monday off.
Key Accountabilities include:
- Loading and unloading equipment for transportation.
- Taking full responsibility for the truck and plant ensuring maintenance and servicing are completed as required.
- Participating in the replacement and maintaining rail structures, Bridges, Culverts, Platforms, Signal structures, Retaining walls, and performing general maintenance and cleaning.
- Ensure that all operations comply with safety standards.
- Assist the team with manual labouring tasks when not operating plant and machinery.
- There will be the requirement to work overtime, stay away from home, travel to different locations and work different shifts on occasion.

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Hold a certificate II Rail Infrastructure or be willing to obtain within the first 6 months of employment.
- A valid medium rigid (MR) Truck License is Essential.
- Excavator experience with the required competencies.
- Availability to commit to 4 days on, 3 days off. Tuesday to Friday, 7 AM to 4:30 PM; Saturday to Monday off.
- Backhoe, excavator and front-end loader experience with the required competencies are desirable.
- Experience in rail or civil is advantageous.

Remuneration for this position will be in line with the V/Line Rail Asset Management Enterprise Agreement 2023 and paid as an IMW (TRACK) 2.1 $44.0037 per hour plus super.
