Your Strategic Impact

Your Strategic Impact
Reporting directly to the Executive Manager – Finance, you'll provide risk, compliance, and governance oversight across all operational domains. Your work will not only ensure regulatory compliance, but also align with broader ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) and sustainability goals.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Risk & Governance
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of risk management frameworks.
- Maintain the Group Risk Register and support internal assurance programs.
- Deliver executive level risk reporting, including ESG-related risks.
- Drive policy development and document controls across WHS, Privacy, AML/CTF, and Food Safety.
- Serve as the AML/CTF Compliance Officer and manage all AUSTRAC-related obligations.
- Transaction Monitoring – Review and analyse transactions to identify potential indicators of money laundering or other illicit activities.
- Risk Assessment – Assess the organisation's risk exposure related to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF).
- Compliance and Reporting – Ensure compliance with applicable AML/CTF regulations and prepare required reports for submission to relevant authorities.
- Conduct transaction monitoring, submit Suspicious Matter Reports (SMRs), and perform Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD).
- Monitor PEPs and sanctions lists, and manage escalation protocols.
- Liquor & Gaming Compliance
- Ensure venue operations meet all regulatory requirements under L&GNSW.
- Maintain RSA/RCG registers, incident logs, and compliance reporting.
- WHS & Food Safety
- Oversee safe work practices in line with SafeWork NSW standards.
- Support food safety compliance, inspections, and hygiene protocols.
- Assist in the development of ESG frameworks, data collection processes, and reporting aligned to industry standards.
- Identify governance improvements that align with environmental and social responsibility objectives.
- 5+ years' experience in compliance, risk, or governance—preferably within the finance or corporate services sector
- Strong understanding of AML/CTF legislation and regulatory frameworks
- Familiarity with ESG principles and experience supporting or delivering sustainability reporting
- Experience working with regulators such as AUSTRAC, L&GNSW, SafeWork NSW, and local councils
- Excellent analytical and investigative skills—experience with transaction monitoring tools is advantageous
- Proven capability in drafting policies, managing audits, and communicating with senior stakeholders
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in finance, law, risk, governance, criminology, or a related field
- A proactive, systems-minded professional with a passion for compliance, integrity, and continuous improvement
