About the role
This is a dual Service Desk and Operations position that plays an integral role within RBA's Payment Settlements Department based in the Sydney CBD.
The Payments Settlements Department is responsible for the settlement of interbank obligations arising from the exchange of payments in Australia, the conduct of Exchange Settlement Accounts and the settlement of the Reserve Bank's own trading activities.
As part of its responsibilities, the Department operates critical national infrastructure supporting the Australian financial system, including the Reserve Bank Information and Transfer System (RITS).
As part of the team, you will be responsible for providing efficient administrative and operational support functions for Payment Settlement (PS) Systems including RITS, SWIFT and the Fast Settlement Service (FSS). Other responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the completion of critical daily operational processes.
- Providing first and second level Service Desk support for both internal and external users.
- Monitoring systems to facilitate the early detection of issues.
About you
To be successful in this critical role you will possess;
- 2-3 years' experience in an operations role of a financial institution supporting and/or administering a business system.
- Proven experience in a customer service or service desk environment providing high quality support for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to follow established procedures and complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent people skills and ability to work productively with other staff and as part of a team.
- Proven aptitude for analysing and resolving operational problems.
- Knowledge and exposure to payment systems.
