DuluxGroup’s Safety & Sustainability team leads the charge in environmental compliance and sustainable innovation across the Pacific region. From managing chemical risk and regulatory reporting to driving progress on Scope 3 carbon, packaging, and VOC

Your role

You will provide comprehensive leadership and support in regulatory affairs and sustainability, ensuring effective identification and management of both operational and product risks and opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have a background in chemical engineering, environmental science, chemistry, or related discipline, proven experience in product regulatory compliance and environmental management, high level analytical skills, strong stakeholder engagement skills and will be passionate about sustainability and environment.

Your key responsibilities will include supporting our businesses by providing regulatory advice, supporting the rollout of our energy efficiency, solar generation, waste, packaging improvement projects, contract management particularly related to safety data sheet authoring, collating product stewardship reporting metrics and providing technical advice on day-to-day product compliance issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice on compliance matters including waste classification environmental licensing, and chemical risk management.
  • Monitor and respond to changes in environmental and chemical regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Lead the Chemicals of Concern (CoC) stewardship program and maintain regulatory risk registers.
  • Manage outsourced services such as SDS authoring and emergency response.
  • Prepare and support regulatory reporting (e.g., AICIS, APC).
  • Support delivery and monitoring of sustainability targets and roadmaps, including Scope 3 carbon, packaging, and VOC metrics.
  • Manage the DuluxGroup Life Cycle Assessment model and support its application in business decision-making.
  • Collaborate with various businesses to elevate environmental and sustainability performance across all DuluxGroup brands in the Pacific region, including Australia, New Zealand, PNG, Southeast Asia, and China.

Your Skills And Experience

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry or related discipline
  • Extensive experience in regulatory affairs, sustainability, or environmental management within manufacturing, FMCG, or related sectors
  • Strong communication skills to engage stakeholders and drive sustainability initiatives
  • Well established knowledge of chemical regulations (e.g., NICNAS, REACH, K-REACH, HSNO)
  • Experience in product compliance, including SDS, Dangerous Goods, and chemical risk management
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools, including Excel, Power BI, and SAP
  • Strong communication skills to engage stakeholders and drive sustainability initiatives
