Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior OpenStack Platform Infrastructure Engineer to join our Federal government client. This role involves working within a dynamic OpenStack Platform Team responsible for the development, maintenance, and support of an on-premises private cloud platform. The successful candidate will contribute to both business-as-usual operations and ongoing platform enhancements.

Duties

• Provide day-to-day operational support for Red Hat OpenStack and Ceph clusters in a production environment.
• Automate routine maintenance, upgrade, and deployment activities using tools such as Ansible, Python, and Bash.
• Develop and maintain clear and concise documentation to support operational continuity.
• Transfer technical knowledge to permanent staff through structured handovers and collaboration.
  
  

Skills And Experience Required

• Demonstrated experience in deploying, administering, and supporting large-scale on-premises Red Hat OpenStack environments.
• Proficiency in infrastructure automation using tools such as Ansible, Python, and Bash.
• Experience in the design, deployment, and support of large-scale Red Hat Ceph storage clusters (desirable).
• Experience in OpenShift/Kubernetes administration in an on-premises enterprise environment (desirable).
• Experience managing and troubleshooting enterprise-grade physical hardware and networking used in cloud infrastructure platforms (desirable).
