Job Summary The Head of Operational Risk and Compliance will serve as a key strategic leader at Plenti, responsible for shaping and advancing Plenti’s risk management and compliance framework. Reporting directly to the Chief Risk Officer, this pivotal role involves designing, implementing, and coordinating a comprehensive risk and compliance program uniquely tailored to Plenti’s regulatory landscape and business objectives The ideal candidate will bring at least 10 years of relevant experience in risk and compliance management, coupled with a thorough understanding of the Australian regulatory environment, including ASIC, OAIC, AUSTRAC, and ACCC. Alongside a proven history in risk assessment, control design, and compliance obligation management, you will lead and mentor a dedicated team responsible for executing effective risk management policies and procedures that comply with relevant laws and partner contractual obligations Your proactive communication skills will be crucial, as you will be responsible for conveying risk and compliance issues to executive leadership and the board. By leveraging your expertise, you will not only safeguard Plenti’s operations but also bolster its reputation as a responsible and compliant credit provider in the Australian market, fostering a culture of compliance and continuous improvement across the organisation Key Responsibilities:

- Develop, maintain, and manage the operational risk and compliance program at Plenti
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across the business to ensure a shared understanding of risk and compliance obligations
- Monitor changes within the regulatory environment, working with legal and relevant product heads to interpret obligations and establish suitable controls, testing, and reporting mechanisms
- Develop and manage policy changes and compliance registers across the organisation
- Partner with Learning and Development to produce and deliver relevant risk and compliance training, promoting a proactive compliance culture
- Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify gaps in control effectiveness and non-conformities, working with product heads to manage any ongoing issues
- Prepare and present reports at all levels of the organisation detailing the performance of compliance, controls, and incident management
- Assist with root cause analyses of operational incidents and recommend corrective actions
- Lead or assist in internal investigations related to risk and compliance issues
- Develop and maintain strong external relationships with key regulators and auditors
- Build and mentor a high-performing team of risk and compliance professionals
- Champion risk and compliance across the organisation, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Collaborate with business units to identify and manage functional and enterprise-level risk registers and controls
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in operational risk management, internal audit, or compliance
- Strong knowledge of risk assessment methodologies, control testing, and incident management
- In-depth understanding of the Australian regulatory landscape, including ASIC, OAIC, AUSTRAC, and ACCC.
- Proficiency in risk management and compliance tools and software
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and decision-making skills
- Proven experience in leading and developing teams
- Strong ability to manage cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders without direct authority
- Exceptional communication skills, particularly for conveying complex information clearly and effectively to executive and board-level stakeholders
