The Financial Crime Intelligence Team are the experts in understanding, managing, and advising on Great Southern Bank’s financial crime risks and controls. We aspire to be proactive and agile in the setting of our growing business and the constantly changing financial crime landscape.We deliver compliant and effective financial crime risk mitigation strategies while balancing residual risk and operational impact.
High risk profiles correctly identified and managed at onboarding creates a foundation of effective financial crime controls across the lifecycle of a customer. As an Onboarding Advisor you will be responsible for creating new business profiles accurately to satisfy our AML/CTF obligations and other requirements.As part of this role, you will contribute to critical financial crime defences in the identification of higher risk customers such as politically exposed persons while also protecting our institution from misuse of our products and services by bad actors.This role will also involve the identification and contribution of intelligence to the Financial Crime community.
Ultimately, this role ensures Great Southern Bank’s compliant customer growth, while contributing to the disruption of financial crime. This role requires a highly attentive and analytical individual who is driven to identify opportunities for and to deliver continuous improvements, contributing to a culture of disciplined execution and operational excellence across Financial Crime.

You’ll make an impact by:
- Create new business profiles in accordance with internal and external requirements within service level agreements
- Identify and escalate applications relating to prohibited industries and activities as defined under Great Southern Bank’s AML/CTF Program
- Liaise with frontline teams to assist customers complete business profile creation, providing training from time to time
- Identify and contribute to continuous process improvement for operational efficiency and optimal customer experience
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Experience in the Financial Services, with exposure to onboarding, customer maintenance or financial crime
- Existing understanding of, or ability to rapidly acquire understanding of, financial crime risks across the financial services industry including Fraud and AML/CTF compliance
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (e.g. AML/CTF, fraud, accounting, computer science, finance, business, law, IT, investigations, criminology) from a recognised tertiary institution, or studying towards the same
- Committed to a high level of attention to detail to deliver quality work
