The Head of Learning & Organisational Development (L&OD ANZ is a senior leadership role responsible for designing and delivering a strategic and integrated learning and development framework that drives measurable impact across the Demant ANZ business.

The role oversees the development of a comprehensive learning curriculum, delivering engaging and practical learning solutions through workshops, eLearning, and other modalities. The role will support the professional growth and capability development of employees across all levels and business units.

This role also provides strategic guidance to the HR Director and Senior Executive Team on organisational development initiatives including culture, capability frameworks, leadership development, talent and succession planning, employee engagement, and change management.

Key Accountabilities

Learning & Development


  • Develop and implement the L&D strategy aligned to business goals, in partnership with the Director HR, Business Unit leaders, and the Global L&D team.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders to promote a learning culture and support capability development across the organisation.
  • Oversee the design and delivery of learning programs, ensuring they are contemporary, impactful, and aligned with business needs.
  • Continuously enhance the induction and onboarding experience to accelerate time-to-competency and reduce early-stage employee turnover.
  • Manage the strategy, implementation, and performance of Learning Management Systems (FUSE and Litmos), ensuring FUSE supports skill-based learning paths and Litmos meets compliance training requirements.
  • Lead the development and delivery of leadership programs at all levels, collaborating closely with the Global L&D team to implement leadership initiatives.
  • Support talent initiatives, including succession planning and high-potential development.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the L&D team, including recruitment, performance management, and team engagement.
  • Manage the L&D budget and oversee vendor partnerships.
  • Ensure learning data and analytics are used to drive continuous improvement and alignment with strategic objectives.


Organisational Development


  • Diagnose business challenges and design fit-for-purpose OD solutions.
  • Lead the design and implementation of organisation-wide OD initiatives, including structure, process, and talent frameworks.
  • Apply change management practices to embed and sustain OD initiatives.
  • Use data insights (e.g., engagement surveys, performance reviews) to inform and shape development strategies.
  • Lead the engagement survey process and drive action planning with HRBPs and business leaders.
  • Drive succession planning and leadership pipeline initiatives in collaboration with HR colleagues.
  • Stay up to date with best practices and use industry insights to inform strategy and solution design.
  • Define and track metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of L&OD programs.
  • Ensure all initiatives are aligned across HR functions and business units.
  • Identify and leverage internal and external partners to enhance learning and OD offerings.


Qualifications & Experience


  • A relevant degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, Organisational Development, or Talent Management.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and leading strategic L&OD initiatives.
  • Experience working in a matrixed and fast-paced business environment.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams and developing high performance cultures.
  • Current certifications in Gallup Strengths Finder, Insights Discovery, and 360 Assessments helpful.


Technical Knowledge


  • Advanced MS Office skills.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems and HR systems.
  • Familiarity with instructional design tools and methodology.
  • Strong understanding of the HR lifecycle and associated processes.
