The Opportunity

The Early Learning is Fun Program delivers high-quality, evidence-based supported playgroups for families with children ranging from newborns to school age. This role focuses on strengthening early learning, promoting play-based learning, and building parental confidence using trauma-informed, therapeutic activities.

  • $97k pa pro rata+ 11.5% superannuation + salary packaging up to $15,900 pa pro rata

The Early Learning is Fun (ELF) supported playgroups offer a safe and playful learning environment for families. The team work collaboratively to provide high-quality parent and child supported playgroups for families experiencing vulnerability.

Key Responsibilities:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Children & Playgroup Facilitator to co-facilitate three supported playgroups each week in the City of Whittlesea. The ideal candidate will promote early learning through play, provide case support to families, work collaboratively with various services to ensure comprehensive support for families, and provide guidance and resources.

About You

We are looking for a compassionate and skilled professional with experience in group work and case support with families and young children who is:

  • Passionate about early childhood development and trauma-informed care, with a strong understanding of play-based learning and its role in supporting children’s growth and development.
  • Has the ability to engage culturally diverse communities, apply creative approaches to participation, and promote safe, playful learning environments.
  • Knowledgeable about child development, family violence frameworks (MARAM), early parenting and the secondary and tertiary service systems that aim to support the best interests of children and families
  • Bachelor Level qualified in Social Work, Psychology, Welfare, Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
