The Health, Safety & Environment Team is a specialist, enterprise enabling service. The core function of the team is to advise and support the Business Groups within the Bureau to effectively manage their health, safety and environmental sustainability risks and provide health and rehabilitation case management services for injured or ill employees.
The Bureau is seeking an experienced rehabilitation case manager who is team focussed and driven to achieve return to work outcomes. Reporting to the Rehabilitation and Wellbeing Lead, the role is responsible for delivering health case management services, providing timely advice to managers and employees, and coordinating with supervisors, management, and relevant unions to monitor and resolve cases related to rehabilitation and redeployment.
The Rehabilitation Case Manager has a key role in the management of worker's compensation processes to ensure the Bureau meets its obligations under relevant legislation. The position involves managing, assessing, and investigating workers' compensation claims while coordinating with the Pay and Conditions section, medical and health professionals, and rehabilitation consultants to support claims related to workers' compensation, return-to-work plans and fitness for duty.
The successful applicant will draw upon a broad understanding of physical and psychological conditions to initiate early intervention, plan and implement a return-to-work strategy and support a timely return to work outcome.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and previous rehabilitation case management are essential. Health/Allied Health qualifications, experience coordinating vaccination programs and managing employee assistance programs (EAP) is highly desirable.
