Lead the strategic growth and operational delivery of JBS&G’s Environmental Assessments & Approvals (A&A) service in Queensland. As a Senior Principal, you’ll shape the future of our A&A offering by growing a high-performing team, driving impactful projects, and expanding our presence across Queensland and the East Coast.

About The Opportunity

This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior leadership role within a respected and successful national environmental consultancy. You’ll lead and grow a high-performing A&A team, working closely with our State Manager (QLD), national General Manager Strategic Growth, and national A&A leaders to deliver impactful projects across Queensland and interstate. You’ll also shape strategic initiatives, strengthen client relationships, and drive growth, enhancing JBS&G’s reputation and expanding our presence in the market.

Strategic Leadership

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead the growth of the QLD A&A service aligned with JBS&G’s Strategic Plans.
  • Build strong client relationships and represent JBS&G across government, industry, and regulatory sectors.

Project Delivery

  • Oversee and direct major A&A projects, ensuring commercial and technical excellence.
  • Provide leadership in the application of QLD and Federal environmental legislation, ensuring practical, client-focused outcomes.

Business Development

  • Drive business development, lead proposals, and identify growth opportunities across Queensland and the broader East Coast A&A market.

People Leadership

  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a team of high-performing consultants, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and care.

About You

  • A proven leader with experience and strong track record in environmental approvals, impact assessment, or environmental management—ideally within consulting and/or mining and resources sector.
  • Demonstrated success in leadership, business development, and strategic planning.
  • Deep understanding of QLD and Federal environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with experience managing complex projects, proposals, and client relationships.
  • A confident communicator with exceptional stakeholder engagement and technical writing skills.
  • A proactive, values-driven leader who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in environmental science, law, engineering, or related disciplines.
