POSITION
The Sales Director is to provide broad business development and sales coverage to Australia and New Zealand. Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, leading the development and execution of the strategy to drive positive net new revenue for Australia and New Zealand by engaging in complex, critical, and strategic client relationships. The role is focused on building the Australia and New Zealand business for Allspring and will be directly responsible for a list of accounts and sales targets.

POSITION
The Sales Director is to provide broad business development and sales coverage to Australia and New Zealand. Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, leading the development and execution of the strategy to drive positive net new revenue for Australia and New Zealand by engaging in complex, critical, and strategic client relationships. The role is focused on building the Australia and New Zealand business for Allspring and will be directly responsible for a list of accounts and sales targets.
Responsibilities
- Key responsibilities of this role include the leadership in developing, agreeing and executing the overall sales strategy for Australia and New Zealand
- Increase net revenue within assigned territory through strategic institutional relationships with clients.
- Maintaining detailed, direct dialogue with institutional and wholesale clients, understanding their needs, and delivering appropriate solutions
- Coordinate with sub-advisors for effective sales and marketing strategies.
- Partner with Marketing to agree on our marketing strategy for the region covering events, media, and brand activities
- Understanding and staying current on Allspring's business strategy in order to drive firm-wide initiatives
- Growing Allspring’s presence by developing client-focused events (i.e. roundtables, seminars, etc.) that can help develop and reinforce our brand
- Engage with current clients and prospects to stay relevant and report their needs to inform Allspring's market understanding.
- Understand the various channels (Sovereign Wealth, retirement, insurance, Financial Institutions, Official Institutions) and be able to coordinate internal support to address channel-specific client engagement
- Join the Global (Ex US) Leadership team to grow our distribution business and support client relations, product, and marketing.
- To consistently set the right standards and tone, embodying what we value at all times.
- To ensure that all policies and procedures are understood and adopted. This includes full compliance with all internal requirements including Salesforce record-keeping and sales compliance
- Educated to degree level
- MBA/CFA or equivalent experience preferred
- 10+ years’ experience in institutional asset management, relationship management, portfolio management, and sales
- Detailed knowledge of investment asset classes, capabilities, products, and services
- Excellent understanding of the institutional asset management industry in the AUS/NZ region
- Capable of conducting consultative meetings and presenting proposals
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of the institutional asset management industry including portfolio management, sales, client relations, compliance, risk management, operations, record-keeping, custody
- Proven ability to identify and influence decision-makers within institutional and wholesale clients
- Subject matter expertise in the understanding of investment principles and products including vehicles - separate accounts, pooled funds, eligibilities, fee schedules
- Comprehensive knowledge of all client types and the requirements of each including – pension, insurance, corporate, balance sheet, and official institutions
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with teams spanning a range of locations and efficiently navigate the matrix organization
