About The Role
Due to ongoing operational growth, McConnell Dowell is seeking an experienced Contract Administrator to join our team at Tarneit.
This role supports the Western Program Alliance (WPA) on the Level Crossing Removal Project, offering the opportunity to work at the Tarneit site compound. You will play a key role in supporting project delivery by managing contracts, ensuring compliance, and facilitating communication between stakeholders. You’ll work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects run smoothly and on budget.

This role supports the Western Program Alliance (WPA) on the Level Crossing Removal Project, offering the opportunity to work at the Tarneit site compound. You will play a key role in supporting project delivery by managing contracts, ensuring compliance, and facilitating communication between stakeholders. You’ll work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects run smoothly and on budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage subcontractor agreements and oversee compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Process and assess subcontractor payment claims in coordination with project engineers.
- Support the evaluation and administration of contract variations and extension of time requests.
- Collaborate with site teams to ensure accurate and timely commercial reporting.
- Perform general administrative duties related to contract management.
- Apply sound commercial knowledge to support project delivery and cost control.
- You have proven experience in a Contract Administrator or similar role ideally within the construction industry.
- You hold a valid White Card and Driver’s Licence, and are comfortable working full-time on a live construction site (wearing PPE).
- You’re based in or near Tarneit (Melbourne), and are able to commute reliably to site.
- You have strong proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word, and ideally have experience using Workbench or a similar cost control system.
