Job Description

  • PROJECT COORDINATION
    • Assess project requirements, including materials, labor, and equipment
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, subcontractor services,
and other expenses associated with construction projects

  • Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to obtain competitive

pricing and negotiate favorable terms and conditions for materials and

services

  • Identify potential risks and uncertainties associated with project estimates
  • Propose strategies to mitigate risks and ensure cost-effectiveness
  • Monitor project budgets throughout the construction process
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and pricing fluctuations

to refine estimating techniques, enhance accuracy, and optimize cost-saving

opportunities

  • Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and project managers to address inquiries, clarify specifications, and provide timely updates on cost-related matters

  • ADMINISTRATION
  • Maintain accurate records of project estimates, contracts, and generate
  • Develop detailed bid proposals and tender documents in response to client

requests

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
  • Proven experience as an Estimator, with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes/regulations applicable in Australia
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools such as Estimate One and similar programs
  • MUST have experience with Bluebeam Revu
  • Familiarity with tendering processes, contract administration, and project management principles
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Excellent mathematical skills and proficiency in cost analysis, budgeting, and financial modelling
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting tight deadlines
