About the Role / Are you up for the challenge?
As the Utilities Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the planning, coordination, and delivery of utilities works along the Beveridge to Albury project corridor. Working closely with project teams, utility providers, subcontractors, and stakeholders, you will ensure that all utilities-related activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with project timelines and objectives.
Collaboration will be key, as you will engage with various disciplines across multiple sites to ensure the seamless execution of works that meet the project’s safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness standards.

Project Description
Inland Rail is transforming how goods are moved around Australia, connecting Melbourne and Brisbane via regional Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. This 1,700km fast freight backbone will complete our national freight network – better connecting producers to markets and creating new opportunities for regional businesses, industries and communities.
The Beveridge to Albury (B2A) project is the Victorian portion of the program undertaken along approximately 305 kms of existing northeast rail corridor between Beveridge and Albury. B2A is staged in two tranches. Tranche 1 includes enhancement works across four sites and corridor wide works.
Tranche 2 works will be delivered by John Holland and includes adjustment of track alignments, the provision of new road overbridges and station modifications to enable the safe operation of double-stack freight trains across eight B2A project sites between Wandong and Benalla.

Overall responsibility for the role on this high-profile major project includes:
- Manage and supervise utilities works, including the relocation, installation, and protection of essential services such as water, gas, electricity, telecommunications, and drainage.
- Coordinate with utility providers, local councils, and other stakeholders to ensure timely approvals and compliance with statutory requirements.
- Monitor and report on the progress of utilities activities, proactively addressing any risks or delays.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure that work complies with project specifications, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate records, including permits, approvals, as-built drawings, and daily site logs.
- Work closely with the project team to integrate utilities work seamlessly with other construction activities.
- Foster a strong safety culture on-site and ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Proven experience as a Utilities Supervisor or in a similar role within large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of utilities relocation, installation, and coordination processes, particularly within rail or linear infrastructure projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with utility providers, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
- A proactive and solution-focused mindset with strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Relevant qualifications in construction, engineering, or a related discipline (preferred).
- Experience working on rail or large-scale infrastructure projects will be highly regarded.
- Current driver's license and the ability to travel to various sites as required
