We're seeking a Senior HR Business Partner to support our growing business and large infrastructure


About the Role

The Senior HR Business Partner plays a strategic and operational role in aligning people initiatives with business goals. Acting as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, this role supports workforce planning, talent development, employee engagement, and change management. It ensures HR strategies are tailored to business unit needs, enabling sustainable performance and growth. The role also manages employee relations, promotes an inclusive and compliant workplace culture, and contributes to broader People & Safety initiatives, ensuring alignment with organisational values and regulatory standards.


With a hybrid split (Office/WFH), this role is based in Southbank, Melbourne and is part of the People & Safety Team.


This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:

  • Collaborate with business leaders to align people strategies with business objectives, providing expert advice and tailored HR solutions.
  • Lead workforce planning, talent identification, succession planning, and capability development to support current and future business needs.
  • Drive initiatives that enhance employee engagement, promote an inclusive culture, and align with organizational values.
  • Enable effective change management by aligning HR initiatives with business transformation goals and ensuring readiness across teams.
  • Manage complex employee relations matters, ensuring compliance with legislation, enterprise agreements, and internal policies.
  • Use workforce analytics to provide insights that inform leadership decisions, improve team performance, and support diversity and inclusion goals.


You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

  • Tertiary qualification in HR, Business, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of strategic HR experience ideally with experience of major infrastructure, energy, or construction projects
  • Proven expertise in employee relations and industrial relations, with the ability to manage complex cases and compliance requirements.
  • Proven track record of developing high performing teams
  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to thrive in a project-driven environment, working with remote teams and multiple stakeholders
  • Experience in supporting workforce planning, mobilisation, and resourcing strategies.
