The opportunity
The Data Consultant will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing North's data strategy, ensuring we effectively harness data to drive business success. This position focuses on articulating our business needs for data management, storage, analysis, and governance, and then lead the definition of a solution design and business case. You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with stakeholders to define, agree upon, and execute a comprehensive data strategy that supports our growth objectives.
Description of division and business unit
North is a key growth business for AMP and supported by a substantial investment in transformation. It exists in a very competitive market, and a robust regulatory environment, which requires regular reviews of strategic direction and operational emphasis. The target segment for Platforms is mass affluent through the advised channel, with some service provided directly to clients that become unadvised.
About the role:
- Data Strategy Development: Collaborate with business leaders to define and articulate our data strategy aligned with our growth aspirations; Identify business needs for data usage, storage, and governance, translating them into strategies.
- Data Architecture and Warehousing: Design and plan an efficient data storage and warehousing solution to support North's analytical and operational needs; Ensure data architecture aligns with industry best practices and regulatory requirements and is fit for purpose. Ensure the design supports regulatory compliance and meets data privacy and security requirements.
- Data Analysis and Insights: Develop frameworks for data analysis that enhance decision-making and provide business insight; Use analytical tools to derive meaningful insights from data, supporting North's strategic objectives.
- Data Governance: Support the drafting of initial data governance policies to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams in North and AMP Group to gather requirements and ensure data strategy alignment; Communicate effectively with stakeholders to drive consensus and support for data initiatives.
About you:
- Appropriate accreditations in Data Science or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Data Strategy Analyst or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in data warehousing and analysis tools and software.
- Ability to articulate business needs and define a business case.
- Ability to translate complex data into business insights.
- Experience as part of organisational data transformations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong structured communication skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Financial services / wealth platforms experience preferred.
