Growth Engineer
Workyard

Workyard is a fast-growing venture backed startup that is developing an innovative workforce management platform for the construction market. In an industry where $300 billion is spent annually on labor, we are fundamentally changing the experience for companies and workers by adding trust, transparency, and technology to workforce management and enable smarter business decisions.
This is a great opportunity for an ambitious Growth Engineer to join a highly experienced team and be part of building a game-changing product for the construction industry. As we’re building out our Growth function, we need a data-driven full stack engineer with a passion for experimentation and rapidly building new features and pages to drive change.
This is a hybrid role: 2 days in our offices in Sydney (Surry Hills), and 3 days remote.
Responsibilities
- Work within our Growth team to experiment, iterate and deliver rapid improvements
- Dive into the data to understand the how and why of customer behaviour to improve outcomes
- Improve the code base through continuous refactoring
- Implement unit tests and ensure rigorous E2E testing of changes and experiments are performed
- Keep up to date with the state-of-the-art of web development
- Proactively communicate and build strong relationships with team members
Requirements
- Solid experience in full stack web development. We use TypeScript (React) and PHP (Laravel) but any mix of languages and a desire to learn is great.
- Be statistically and commercially minded, you’re thinking about the impact your code has at a macro level
- SQL knowledge, proficient at diving into and interpreting data
- Outstanding communication skills to collaborate with marketing, product and other engineers to build and ship quality code.
- Analytical ability to think beyond the happy path scenarios and ask relevant questions to dig deeper and make sure all bases are covered
- Highly focused: you have a great ability to differentiate the essentials from the nice-to-haves in a way that gets you as fast as possible to the end result.
- You can self manage your time and projects, setting a good example for other engineers.
- Passion for software development and a desire to continuously improve your craft.
- Strong UX and product sensibility
- B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent
