About the role
We are seeking an accomplished and detail-oriented Group Financial Controller to join our organisation on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This senior leadership role is responsible for global financial reporting, compliance, and governance, while leading a high-performing finance team across multiple regions.
This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the financial stewardship of a globally connected organisation. You will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of financial operations, while providing strategic insights and leadership across the business. With regular engagement with the Executive Committee, Board Audit & Risk Committee, and CFO, you will be instrumental in supporting informed decision-making at the highest levels.

What you will be doing
- Lead and develop a large global finance team across multiple jurisdictions;
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual group financial reporting cycles;
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with IFRS and internal controls;
- Prepare consolidated financial statements and group reporting packs;
- Manage external audit processes and relationships;
- Support group budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning;
- Provide technical accounting leadership and drive global alignment;
- Preparation of legal entity statutory accounts for Orica entities;
- Maintain and enhance financial controls, policies, and governance frameworks;
- Perform other ad-hoc analysis/reporting as necessary driven by requirements or events.
What you will bring
- CA/CPA/ACCA qualified with extensive post-qualification experience;
- Deep expertise in group financial control within complex, multi-entity international environments;
- Proven leadership of large, diverse finance teams across geographies;
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience influencing at board and executive levels;
- Expert knowledge of IFRS and statutory reporting in a global context;
- Clear, confident communicator with high integrity and professionalism;
- Passionate about operational excellence and continuous improvement.
