We’re seeking an experienced Yard Manager to join our Bristile Roofing team in Dandenong, VIC.
Reporting to the Customer Service Manager, your primary focus will be to lead the team to deliver superior customer experience, in a sustainable and safe manner. You will manage the day-to-day operations of the despatch team, stock movements and yard activities to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of product to customers.
This will include adherence to all relevant company policies and procedures including but not limited to Chain of responsibility, Stock Control, Quality and Safety.

You will manage the day-to-day operations of the despatch team, stock movements and yard activities to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of product to customers.
This will include adherence to all relevant company policies and procedures including but not limited to Chain of responsibility, Stock Control, Quality and Safety.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Lead yard and despatch teams to ensure safe practices, efficient loading/unloading, effective yard layout and housekeeping, and compliance with policies to meet and exceed business and customer goals.
- Ensure stock is securely stored, all dispatches/receipts are accurately recorded, and stock movements in JDE match physical goods in quantity and description.
- Oversee inventory control, including stock levels, monthly stocktakes, random cycle counts, daily breakage reports, quality checks, and timely release of tested products to maintain safe operating levels.
- Manage yard staff and subcontractors, deliver training, monitor labour costs, conduct site audits and toolbox talks, and implement a fatigue management policy.
- Ensure full and timely deliveries through efficient load scheduling, maintain a safe and organised yard, and liaise with transport providers.
- Maintain strong relationships with all key stakeholders.
- Regularly control yard location listings.
- Ensure compliance with Brickworks Load Restraint Guidelines and relevant State and National Heavy Vehicle laws.
- Manage driver contracts in line with Brickworks policies and ensure service levels support business success.
- Solid knowledge of transport, Chain of Responsibility and heavy vehicle regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Experienced with transport database systems.
- Effective communicator with strong leadership and compliance skills.
- Skilled problem solver.
- Proven ability to lead, engage teams and drive continuous improvement to deliver results.
