What we are looking for:

This dynamic role supports the Business Managers Program, empowering Fraser Coast businesses to grow and employ confidently. From marketing to grant navigation, you'll play a key role in building resilient, job-creating enterprises.

You'll design and deliver tailored business workshops, drive stakeholder engagement, and provide hands-on support across Hervey Bay and Maryborough.

Delivered in partnership with the Australian Government’s Strong and Resilient Communities Grant, this is your chance to make a meaningful regional impact while developing innovative, business-led solutions.

What your day will look like:
  • Design and deliver targeted business support programs that address local workforce needs, helping Fraser Coast businesses employ and retain staff effectively.

  • Coordinate and facilitate business workshops and events in Hervey Bay and Maryborough, including guest speakers, training, and development resources.

  • Engage with local businesses, industry bodies, and stakeholders to identify challenges and tailor solutions that support regional economic growth and resilience.

  • Support businesses in navigating and accessing government grants, funding opportunities, and disaster recovery support.

  • Manage data collection and reporting processes, including preparing assessments for government stakeholders and maintaining a business CRM.

  • Ensure compliance with risk management, WHS, and records management policies in alignment with Council and legislative requirements.

What you’ll need for success:
  • Business development/economic development/senior recruitment experience.

  • Demonstrated experience in economic development project activities including program delivery, planning, development and marketing.

  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement including the ability to persuade, influence, negotiate and engage positively across a range of stakeholders.

  • Highly organised with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills

  • Highly developed computer skills, particularly in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of applications

  • Current driver's licence

What’s nice to have:

  • Tertiary qualification (AQF level 7 or above) in a relevant discipline

  • Knowledge of the Strong and Resilient Communities Activity
