What's so exciting about this role?

We're on the lookout for a Java Developer to play a key role in transforming our current Cards system into a modern, cloud-native, and highly scalable card solution. This is an exciting opportunity to create a brand new fintech product from the ground up, utilising a cutting-edge technology stack. This is not just a coding role - it's a chance to influence system architecture, drive best practices, and be part of a team that thrives on continuous improvement and customer-focused delivery.

What Does An Average Day Look Like?

No day is average at humm but here's an idea of what you can expect to do in this role:

• Collaborate with tech leads, developers, and stakeholders to shape great solutions.
• Write clean, efficient, scalable Java code using tools like Spring Boot, Hibernate, and JUnit.
• Design, review and refine software components and architecture.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retros).
• Support feature releases, resolve production issues and ensure system availability.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Drive best practices in CI/CD, cloud deployment and containerization.
• Contribute to platform ownership and 24x7 Level 3 support (as part of the squad rotation).

You're a driven, passionate developer who thrives in a fast-paced, agile environment. You're comfortable with full-stack thinking, cloud-native development and get excited by continuous learning. We're also looking for someone who brings:

• 5+ years of experience in Java development.
• Strong Java skills and frameworks: Spring Boot, Hibernate, JUnit, Mockito.
• Proficiency in RESTful APIs, microservices, and Object-Oriented Design.
• Experience with databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle.
• Familiarity with Docker, AWS (ECS, EKS, EC2, Lambda, S3) and Terraform.
• A background in cloud architecture, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and monitoring.
• Problem-solving skills, an analytical mindset, and a continuous improvement approach.
• Great communication skills and a strong customer focus.
