Key Responsibilities


  • Design system components using industry-standard modelling tools and techniques
  • Develop detailed specifications and multiple design views to address stakeholder needs
  • Simulate and prototype system behaviours for technical validation
  • Resolve system-wide faults using advanced diagnostic methods
  • Configure and reconfigure RF systems to optimise performance and availability
  • Select and integrate RF devices in compliance with project requirements
  • Define communication protocols for RF transmission
  • Participate in functional and design reviews and contribute to test planning
  • Create detailed test cases, scripts, and automate repeatable test processes
  • Conduct exploratory testing and defect analysis to validate system functionality
  • Support knowledge-sharing and mentoring within the technical team


Desired Skills and Attributes


  • Proven experience in RF hardware design and configuration
  • Sound understanding of systems engineering documentation and processes
  • Strong skills in test case creation, automation, and structured exploratory testing
  • Experience with satellite communications (desirable)
  • Knowledge of ARPANSA RF standards (desirable)
  • Electrical Trade Certificate (desirable)
  • Familiarity with RF over IP technologies (desirable)
  • Effective communicator and proactive team contributor
  • Ability to work onsite full-time in a secure environment
  • Must hold Positive Vetting security clearance
